Hope everyone enjoys the home movie! I borrowed Ron Sledge's camera to take this footage, obviously my first attempt at filmmaking. Probably shot between March-May 1968 time frame. All the Montagnard children you see are part of Operation Rice Lift; however, a few are no longer with us, but their descendants receive our help. This was filmed on highway 19 (between Pleiku and the Mang Yang Pass). The river you see is the Ayun where it cross hwy 19.
Harry:
This epic motion picture sure brought back some memories. As I was watching it, I felt I was back there in the moment. Good job!

Just got the new newsletter. Was surprised and glad to see my pic with the "bar gang" submitted by T. Vergallito. Boy did I look young. Was there from March 68 to Oct. 68. I have a lot of pics and hope to be able to attend the next east coast reunion. Best wishes to all.

Was with B Co at Pleiku 1968 until we moved to An Khe. Left An Khe about 29 days early due to the early out by Nixon. Anyone who knew me, please e-mail me. Sorry my memory is failing and I can't remember names although I think I recognized a couple of the pictures.

I'm a journalist working for a small weekly newspaper and just had the pleasure of interviewing one of your members, Mark Dowling, for a Veteran's Day feature.
Since that interview, I am now familiar with your organization and find it admirable that you do the work you do, such as operation Rice Lift.
Thank you all for your service and sacrifices during the Vietnam War.
Sincerely,
Kelley

Hi guys and Pleimates..Just completed the 22d Annual Reunion in Cocoa Beach Florida. A great time was had by all. Some of the highlights were: lunch with an Astronaut by 5 of our members who were highly impressed. Tour of the Kennedy Space Center, a fantastic dinner at the Atlantic Grill on the Cocoa Beach Pier. We also welcomed FNG's John (Junior) Sipe and Al D'Angelo. Funny how they didn't change over 40 years. Also had Best Wishes sent by those who couldn't attend this years meeting. They included Tim Nichols, Juan Alvarado and Carl Minter. Pictures and newsletter should follow in a month or two. Later..Gene

Hey Guys, Thanks, but Gene, Jim Leonardo, & the big guy upstairs deserve all the credit here!
I just accidentally stumbled across the envelope while looking for a "Road Runner Patch" to obtain a better picture than the one we had on file! My part was really just a Fluke, & Gene (Bless His Heart) gets burdened with the never ending task of sifting thru all my e-mails when I stumble across something.
Being the Association Historian (& a Darn Good One @ That) Gene not only has the patience to sift thru my e-mails, he has a sharp eye for authenticity, & the intuitive to follow up on items that could turn out to be be important!
I just design, fumble, & stumble I'd be lost without our Historian! High Five Gene!
This site wouldn't be taking shape & coming so beautifully together without it's contributors! So with that, I'd Like to issue A Great Big "Thank-You" to Mr Leonardo I hope one day we will get to meet you & Thank-You in person!
Be Sure To Check Out "The ORL Page" it has been updated with the "2008 Summary"

Ms. Vicki....I'm speechless! The work you've done for the Association is fantastic!! The addition of the Orderly Room and the Archives found there are fantastic. The Roster (Rooster) of Members 66-68 holds a wealth of information. In fact, it's the first roster I've seen with MY name on it. In other rosters, names beginning with "L" were missing. Anyway, I just wanted to say THANKS! for all you do, and for the initiative to take this site to new heights.

I am glad to find this site.
I served in the 504th 1969 to 1970 and I got to come home 2 weeks early due to Nixon's pull out.
I look at many of the Reunion pictures but just don't remember any of the names... it's sad to say.
I am going to bookmark this page and check back from time to time.
My Year was good and I remember a number of great memories.
Greeting to all who serviced,
