Program
Government officials in Vietnam announced plans today to end a Memorandum
of Agreement allowing adoptions between Vietnam and the United States. The
move comes after a report released last week outlined widespread
allegations that include corruption. Vietnam will stop accepting
applications from U.S. families after July 1, although it will continue to
process applications from those who have been matched with children, until
the existing agreement expires on September 1.
